The Atlanta Braves have a pretty good team in the 2011/2012 season, mainly because of some great pitching from Jair Jurrjens, Tim Hudson, Tommy Hanson and Derek Lowe. Atlanta’s main colours are white, navy blue and red. The Braves were established in 1871 as the Boston Red Stockings. Then after several name changes they agreed on the Atlanta Braves in 1966. The team owner is John Malone and the manager is Fredi Gonzalez. Since 1997, the Braves have played at Turner Field. They have won 3 World Series titles, in 1914, 1957 and 1995. Atlanta has won 17 NL Pennants, the most recent being in 1999. They have also put together 16 Division Titles and 1 Wild Card berth. When it comes to records since 1871 Hank Aaron leads the way in just about all offensive categories; except for Chipper Jones who has 1426 walks, Rabbit Maranville 103 triples and Billy Hamilton with an impressive .339 batting average. Pitching wise, Warren Spahn has 356 wins, John Smoltz has 3011 strikeouts and Tommy Bond has a 2.21 ERA. The Braves will continue to be hot, especially with top rookies Brandon Beachy, Freddie Freeman and the amazing closer Craig Kimbrel.
